Tallinn in Estonia is a relatively undiscovered destination for the travelling golfer. If you haven’t been there it should be added to your list of ‘must visit’ destinations due to the friendly people, the stunning city centre and a good selection of excellent golf courses close by.
The golfing season is usually from Easter to November with the warmest weather from May to September. The golf courses range from links, to woodland to parkland, so offer a great variety with the best course acknowledged as Estonia Golf & Country Club, a 27 hole layout by the coast. There are a variety of hotels in and around the city centre to suit all tastes and budgets from historic boutique hotels within the old city walls to large modern tower blocks with stunning views of the old town and the coastline.
Tallinn is a fantastic city with plenty of history behind it. We recommend walking the cobbles to discover the old town either by yourself or preferably with a guide so that you don’t miss anything. Another recommended tour is Tallinn by night when the old town comes alive with entertainment in the city squares and a huge selection of restaurants, bars and clubs to enjoy into the early hours. The cuisine is varied and don’t be surprised to find that the local restaurants have replaced wine lists with vodka lists to cater for the local’s drink of choice. A great venue for a golfing holiday with a difference.
