Overview
The prestigious and highly rated San Lorenzo Golf Club is a beautiful golf course and is amongst Europe’s highest renowned golf courses. The San Lorenzo Golf Club that overlooks the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is located within the vast Quinto do Lago Estate of Almancil in the Algrave.
The 18-hole layout is crafted through the pine wood forests and around the lakes of the beautiful Ria Formosa and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The well conditioned course displays elevated tees, undulating fairways and rapid greens, but be careful, there is always a deep bunker or hidden water hazard to catch you out along the way.
Designed in 1988 by American golf architect, Joseph Lee and his partner, Rocky Roquemore, it is currently owned by the JJW Hotels Group, the same group that owns the Dona Filipa Hotel and the Formosa Park Apartment Hotel which means that guests of these two hotels benefit from preferential access and heavily discounted green fees.
Just short of 7000 yards, the par 72 layout consists of 18 beautifully created scenic holes that finish up at the cabin style clubhouse that overlooks the practice facilities, 10th tee and 18th green. Overall, the San Lorenzo course, besides offering a placid location and visual delight with its natural beauty, also presents three different tees to add variety, thus also forming a tough challenge to all golfers.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
