Overview
Laid out over pleasantly rolling terrain, this course, close to Dublin, also features, a 52-room hotel with spa and seminar facilities. The Architecture was assigned to Christy O’Connor Jnr., the guarantee of a serious layout and design. However, as the great man has already built about thirty over courses, comparisons are inevitable, and you may find that this inspiration here is a little less potent and original than elsewhere.
In his now established style, he has cleverly played with the meanders of the river Broadmeadow, which crosses the site, and the digging of several little extra lakes has brought water into play on two-thirds of the course. That’s enough to deter the less experienced golfer, who should not think twice about playing from the front. Some of the more salient features are the par 3s, especially holes 9 and 13, and the excellence of the greens.
Location
