Designed by renowned golf architect Cabell B. Robinson in 1993, this picturesque layout with year-round appeal takes full advantage of Madeira’s hilly terrain, with abrupt ridges and deep valleys providing a compelling challenger for even the most seasoned golfer.
Palheiro Golf is situated just 10km east of Funchal within the magnificent Palheiro Estate and lying adjacent to the five-star Hotel Casa Velha do Palheiro – a Relais et Chateaux property. The 18-hole, par 72 course which stands at 500m above sea level meanders through a pristine environment of maritime pine and botanical woodland embroidered with lush, sub-tropical vegetation.
Palheiro Golf was changed in 2003 where two holes were replaced, and a 6-hole academy course was created. The result is a stunning 18-hole challenge with breathtaking views of the stunning mountainous skyline, fast undulating greens, well placed bunkers and tight fairways that reward accurate play. A true rival to the renowned courses of Portugal’s Algarve and Estoril Coast.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
