Overview
Alongside the Oceanico Faldo Golf Course and the Oceanico Amendoeira Resort’s variety of accommodation, the Christy O’Connor Jnr layout takes full advantage of being situated in a fertile valley. Its various water features demand accuracy from the tee and precise approach play as this is a true test for all abilities of golfer. The rich topsoil has been skilfully landscaped and planted with mature palm trees, affording a lush ornamental setting like an extensive oasis.
The course has tees that are generally connected to the fairways, but its greater overall distance, the water hazards and big greens provide its challenge. Golfers must also be prepared to read the subtly contoured putting surfaces that are strong features.
Oceanico O’Connor Jnr’s front 9 would be the signature holes on this course thanks to the hazards that border this tricky collection of tests. The Par 3 3rd is easily recognised by a Moorish relic situated on an island in the adjacent lake, but don’t let this distract you on this excellent short hole. Holes 7, 8 and 9 can make or break your scorecard offering a stern test with the lakes that run alongside them demanding a straight drive and a precise second into these innocent looking Par 4s.
Facilities at the wonderful Amendoeira Resort include a magnificent clubhouse with an excellent bar and restaurant, a vast pro-shop with an extensive range of products, the Greenside Bar & Café, luxurious changing rooms, the Oceanico Academy with a 9 hole floodlit short course, practice putting greens, a driving range, long & short game practice areas and lastly outstanding accommodation options for those that want to park up and not leave until their departure date. For those hardened golfers looking at staying on-site, residents are offered free unlimited golf with a golf cart throughout their stay.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
