Overview
Montado Golf Course is one of the most popular golf courses in the Orizonte golf programme following a large renovation project that saw an overhaul in facilities and course design. Montado reopened in September 2006 to critical acclaim and offers one of the most spectacular and competitive layouts not just in the Costa Azul, but in the whole of Portugal, in line with the two excellent courses from the same group of promoters at the Robinson Quinta da Ria Resort in Eastern Algarve; Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima.
The 18-hole golf course with a Par of 72 measures 7000 yards and is distinguished by a landscape dominated by vineyards and flat morphology region, developing in a fitted oak where streams and lakes make it unique. The layout of the course offers large greens and holes with particular characteristics, which highlights the 18th hole where the green is situated on an island. The large clubhouse has also been refurbished and features a spa, a gym, sauna, Turkish bath and a swimming pool. Not the best course in the region, but an ideal way to ease yourself into the more testing layouts of the Costa Azul.
Location
The Costa Azul is Portugal’s hidden gem. For those in golfing circles will need no introduction into the quantity of high calibre golf courses in this region just south of Lisbon, with big-name designers having produced some of the best golf in Portugal. Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
