Overview
A great club, as British as they come, with two 18-hole courses and a huge and very comfortable club house with old-style architecture straight out of a TV serial. John O’Gaunt is close enough to London to be within easy reach but far enough not to be too busy, at least during the week.
The trees are magnificent and give the courses a very mature park like appearance. On the main course, which was designed by Hawtree, a stream comes into play on a few holes to add a little spice. A classic layout which calls for no comment, but which gives an impression of balance and fulfilment when you play it, especially for lovers of traditional courses that seems to have been around for ever. The other course, Carthagena, opened in 1981, is more of a heather-land course and was built by the ground staff.
Location
The Midlands is home to some of the country’s best golf resorts that are well-equipped for a fantastic golf break. Notable destinations are Marriott Forest of Arden, The Belfry and Hellidon Lakes with their excellent championship courses, and Breadsall Priory’s breathtaking mansion must be one of the most romantic hotels in the whole of England.
The outstanding scenery along with the city centres of Birmingham and Nottingham are ideal for making the perfect golf break.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
