The Macdonald Hill Valley Golf Club is home to two fantastic golf courses – The Emerald Course and The Sapphire Course. The Championship Emerald Course stretches to 6,714 yards and is a par 73. It boasts undulating fairways, strategically-placed bunkers and natural water hazards and poses a real challenge to experienced and mid-level players. The Sapphire Course is a shorter par 66 course that will appeal to less experienced players or those wishing to play a short game.
Designed by TV golfing stars Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas in 1975, the 18-hole Emerald and Sapphire golf courses make Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa one of the Top 10 golf venues in the UK. A fleet of buggies is available throughout the year, and the well-stocked pro shop with its experienced staff means that all your golfing needs are catered for. The luxurious 4 star accommodation, great food, conference facilities and Vital Health and Wellbeing Club turn your golfing break into something very special.

Sweeping around undulating fairways through natural water hazards and strategically placed bunkers, it presents a real golfing challenge to experienced and mid-level players. The shorter par 66 Sapphire Course is designed to hone the skills of less experienced and veteran golfers in the finer points of the short game.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
