Overview
This is one of the few inland courses to find favour with links enthusiasts. The sea must have stretched this far in times gone by because you still find sea-shells in the sand and the soil is of the kind found on every links course.
Located between Scarborough and the superb city of York, this is a sheer masterpiece of a course where Dunn, Vardon, Colt and C.K. Cotton all had a hand in its design. The links style is all the more obvious in that trees come into play only on a very few holes and on the outskirts. Elsewhere, the fairways are bordered by gorse bushes, tall grass and rough, while deep hungry bunkers snap up anything within reach. But all hazards are there to be seen and the courses is a fair if severe test.
The slick greens are well-protected but leave the way open for bump ‘n roll shots. As we were saying, all that is missing is the sea. With the Ryder cup here in 1949, the Curtis Cup 2000 and the Walker Cup 2003, Ganton is one of the finest match play courses around, so it often comes down to the final hole.

To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
