Overview
Old Tom Morris came from St Andrews to lay out the first nine holes of this course in beautiful woody landscape dotted with heather at the heart of Angus. In 1925, the club asked James Braid to upgrade the course to 18 holes, which he did for the princely sum of £10. At that rate you can understand why the man travelled Scotland far and wide, designing hundreds of courses and managing to earn his living as a golf architect.
Today, the course has been enhanced by some tall pine-trees, but you can still feel Tom Morris’ beloved springy turf underfoot and contouring worthy of the finest links. Not a long course – although it is only a par 69 with just the one par 5 – it is still exciting to play, especially the par 3s and a number of blind spots for a few extra thrills. Of further note are 2 long par 4’s, the 12th and the 15th called “Braid’s Best”, which says it all.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
