Overview
This course is found no further than the end of the world, a little after Dornoch and Golspie, where the length of the days in summer could almost let you play all three in the same day. Brora is one of the great traditional links, fine-tuned in 1924. Electric fences protect all the greens from the sheep employed to keep the grass cropped. The tee-boxes and greens are often elevated, built between dunes of between 5 and 12 metres high, and the texture of the turf is particularly pleasant, especially for putting.
Although rather short, Brora is not an easy course, even though sometimes you might prefer slightly more penalising rough and the par 3s run in all directions and so call for careful thought. This is a club of perfect hospitality, with some spectacular views and where the 19th hole is both reward and consolation. More should be said about this side of Brora to people who are not curious enough to come and discover the course.
Location
Inverness really has got all the elements for a memorable city break. Just taking a wander through the handsome city centre is pretty enjoyable too; appreciate Inverness Castle and St Andrew’s Cathedral, then stroll along the banks of the River Ness, crossing the suspension bridge for some peace and relaxation on the Ness Islands. Ah, bliss!
Stretching out on the north east coast, Aberdeen is bordered…
