Overview
The Abama Golf Club is widely regarded as the best golf course in the Canary Islands. Despite being the newest golf course on Tenerife, the layout that sits alongside the five-star Ritz-Carlton Hotel blends beautifully into the landscape and utilises the existing planting to add theatre and backdrop to the superb design.
Dave Thomas put more than 50 years of experience of the professional golf industry into the creation of Abama’s golf course, now widely regarded as one of his greatest achievements. Meandering up and down the slopes of Guia de Isora, the course stretches to a very testing 6900 yards of ever-changing terrain, features 22 lakes linked by impressive waterfalls and white-sand bunkers, and has 25,000 palm trees over the entire resort. The course reaches a high point of 315 metres above sea level, and most holes provide spectacular views of the Atlantic and the island of La Gomera.
The large greens provide an infinite choice of flag positions which, combined with the wide tee areas at each hole, makes the course accessible to players with high handicaps, and a challenge even for the most experienced golfer. Be careful of the greens…They’re fast!! There can be no surprise when we say it is a true test of golf.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
