Overview
The award-winning Dona Filipa Hotel has everything a golfer needs for the perfect golf holiday in Portugal. Following an extensive renovation project, one of the original golf hotels on the Algarve now stands proud overlooking the Atlantic Ocean as one of the best golf hotels in Europe.
The hotel has a large selection of room sizes and views that make up the 154 rooms on offer of which 10 are for sole-occupancy and 22 are suites. The remainder, which can be accommodated for double or single occupancy, are split across five floors and are elegantly decorated in a modern Portuguese fashion. The staffing team at Dona Filipa are professional and provide good, old-fashioned, high-quality, personal service.
The hotel has a wealth of brilliant facilities including three floodlit tennis courts and a heated swimming pool and is just a short walk from the beach (part of which is reserved for residents) and from the Praca, a village complete with several restaurants, beach bars and a nightclub which is lively during high season. There are two air-conditioned restaurants within the hotel, a restaurant offering Italian cuisine (Primavera) and an à la carte restaurant with local and international specialities (Dom Duarte).
The hotel’s own golf course, San Lorenzo, is exclusively reserved for residents. It is ranked in the European Top 25 and is a must play.

For over 60 years, the Algarve has been synonymous with golf holidays in Europe. Since the Penina Hotel was introduced to the locals of Portimao in 1966, the growth of golf along the Algarve coast has been incessant with many famed courses being built such as Quinta do Lago’s trio of courses, Vilamoura’s handful of top tracks, Pestana’s fantastic four around Alvor and more recently the two signature courses at Amendoeira.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
