In this region of Surrey, Hindhead is one of a recommended threesome which include Hankley Common and West Surrey. Set in a roller coasting landscape the golf can however be a little tiring if you are pulling your own cart.
Hindhead is a course of two contrasting halves, with the first 9 holes played in a valley dating from the ice age and the back 9 straddling the top of a hill. From a visual point of green. Before your round, go and have a drink at the bar, enjoy the magnificent view over the 18th hole and listen to the locals explaining how to play the course. It all comes down to one pint of best bitter and two ideas: keep it straight and keep out of the heather. They could also tell you to avoid the trees and bushes as well, but one look is enough for that to go without saying.
