The comfortable clubhouse with its unusual little roof turrets completes what is a remarkable course and a true revelation for anyone who has never played here before. You have to admit that the partnering of Harry Colt and Alistair Mackenzie will always appear to connoisseurs.
The greens were recently re-laid along the lines of the original layouts, but to modern american specifications. Likewise, several new tee-boxes have helped to restyle the course without changing any of the strategy involved in coping with hazards. Besides the trees, which come into play only for the really bad shot, the heather and gorse of Wigton moor and especially bunkers create most of the trouble.
On the fairways, finding sand can cost you half a shot. Around the greens, where access is tight, it can cost even more. A demanding course running out and in like a links but the fairest adversary you could hope for.

If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
