Overview
It is considerably easier to play here as a green-feer than to become a member. In this sort of golfing paradise, the latter is perfectly understandable. The layout, soil and dunes bear the ha;;mark of a links course, but there are trees on a good number of holes, meaning that the wind is not such an important factor as it can be on the region’s other links courses.
Donald Steel has recently lengthened the course but has taken nothing away from the highly strategic and penal placement of bunkers, laid out initially by Willie Park Jr then improved upon Harry Colt. Seen overall, this is a unique and exciting course which offers a permanent challenge.
Back in 1910 Bernard Darwin wrote “It is one of those courses where the player ‘s fate is entirely in his own hands. If he plays well everything will conspire to help him on his way, but he has got to play well – good, sterling, honest golf”. Playing here is a blissful experience, except perhaps for the ladies who have their own adjacent course and their own club house.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
