Overview
Golf is not really about preferring such and such a style of course design, as each has its upside and each its shortcomings. What makes golf such a rich game is the diversity of challenge thrown down to the player. Blackmoor is the perfect example of this, being a very carefully thought out unassuming course without any visual gimmickry.
Harry Colt placed the hazards, with emphasis as usual on fairness so you see exactly what needs to be done. Given the amount of land available, he preferred a good par 69 to a tricky par 72 and came up with a layout that you will want to play twice in the same day to savour every detail. There are a lot of ditches and wonderfully classical bunkers, heather and ubiquitous trees.
That sort of description could apply to many other courses, we agree, but Blackmoor has real personality that you meet and feel out on the course. It is also more challenging than it looks and ends with some brilliant closing holes.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
