Overview
Despite being located only 45 miles from the lively city of Inverness, the Royal Dornoch Golf Club is a true haven of tranquillity and peace. The club boasts two superb 18-hole golf courses. Ranked No.5 in the world and No.1 in Scotland by Golf Digest 2016, the Championship course was designed by the renowned Old Tom Morris. The par of 70 is evenly distributed over the two halves of the course – each having two par threes, a par five and six par fours.
The ridges, dunes, hillocks, and undulating links land have all the characters of the best of links courses, and most of the difficulties. Watch out for those stiff sea breezes which will add an extra element of difficulty to the course. The Struie course was extended to 18 holes back in the 90s by Donald Steel and his design team. The course encapsulates natural Scottish Links golf, working with the natural landscape, local plant and wildlife, the layout incorporates many of the unique Dornoch features.
The Royal Dornoch Struie course is as a great course, with stunning views, that can often challenge even the most serious golfer, whilst giving those with higher handicaps the chance to play a highly respected links course.
Location
Inverness really has got all the elements for a memorable city break. Discover its flourishing culinary scene, explore the Victorian Market or Eastgate Shopping Centre for a bit of retail therapy, catch one of the many events at Eden Court and other venues, or take your time to admire art exhibitions in the city’s gallery spaces.
Just taking a wander through the handsome city centre is pretty enjoyable too; appreciate Inverness Castle and St Andrew’s Cathedral, then stroll along the banks of the River Ness, crossing the suspension bridge for some peace and relaxation on the Ness Islands. Ah, bliss!

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
