Overview
At the far end of the Portuguese coast beyond all of the major cities that line the famous Algarve shoreline lie the Santo Antonio Villas, Golf and Spa Resort. Framed by a valley that meanders through the course creating some undulating fairways, the Golf Santo Antonio course at Parque da Floresta is an impressive arena that has already had the pleasure in staging some of Europe’s finest up and coming stars on the EuroPro Tour.
With rising and falling fairways on the front nine and the introduction of more hazards on the back nine, there is a need for accuracy off the tee and with approach shots. The difficulty doesn’t end there though with the testing greens demanding well-read putts and just the right amount of pace. Pepe Gancedo, one of Spain’s most revered course architects, has blended this course seamlessly into the landscape following his philosophy of golf course construction involving minimal alteration to the existing terrain. Notable holes are the 1st, 5th, 9th, 11th, 14th, 16th and 17th, but to be honest the entire golf course is extremely fun to play and worth making the journey for.
The clubhouse of Santo Antonio is typically Portuguese and provides spectacular panoramic views over mountains and sea, and also a general view over much of the course.
Location
For over 60 years, the Algarve has been synonymous with golf holidays in Europe. Since the Penina Hotel was introduced to the locals of Portimao in 1966, the growth of golf along the Algarve coast has been incessant with many famed courses being built such as Quinta do Lago’s trio of courses, Vilamoura’s handful of top tracks, Pestana’s fantastic four around Alvor and more recently the two signature courses at Amendoeira.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
