Overview
Designed by the golfing legend and revered golf architect Sir Henry Cotton, the Benamor golf course in the Eastern Algarve has grown in popularity with the growth of this excellent golfing region. Benamor is approximately 20 minutes from Faro Airport and just ten minutes from Tavira where there are a number of good hotels and other high quality golf courses nearby.
Benamor meanders across undulating terrain offering an enjoyable experience to visiting golfers of all standards. The views of the mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South are stunning and the quality of the Penn greens and Bermuda fairways is some of the best of any course in the Algarve ensuring year-round playability. Player’s accuracy is particularly called upon by the architect’s retention of as many of the old trees as feasible. These natural obstacles, coupled with strategically placed bunkers and occasional water hazards, make the course a worthwhile challenge.
Location
For over 60 years, the Algarve has been synonymous with golf holidays in Europe. Since the Penina Hotel was introduced to the locals of Portimao in 1966, the growth of golf along the Algarve coast has been incessant with many famed courses being built such as Quinta do Lago’s trio of courses, Vilamoura’s handful of top tracks, Pestana’s fantastic four around Alvor and more recently the two signature courses at Amendoeira.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
