Overview
The Vilamoura Laguna Golf Course opened in stages. The original nine-hole layout was designed by Joseph Lee and opened in 1990, while the second nine didn’t open until three years later. There was a third nine that was known as the North Course, but this was then used in the completion of the Millennium Course that opened at the turn of the Century. Unlike the other Vilamoura courses that were formally managed by the Oceanico Group, Laguna is located on flat, open terrain and is the most walk-friendly course in the region. The basis of its design is the strategic placement of hazards.
As the name of the course suggests, water plays a prominent role while bunkers that border the greens and fairways demand an elevated accuracy of play. There is a fantastic clubhouse on-site that accommodates visitors of both Millennium and Laguna golf courses with a brilliant restaurant, large bar, a well-stocked pro-shop and a lovely terrace to relax on before or after your 18 holes.
Residents of the hotels in Vilamoura also receive complimentary transfers to get to and from the golf courses.
Location
For over 60 years, the Algarve has been synonymous with golf holidays in Europe. Since the Penina Hotel was introduced to the locals of Portimao in 1966, the growth of golf along the Algarve coast has been incessant with many famed courses being built such as Quinta do Lago’s trio of courses, Vilamoura’s handful of top tracks, Pestana’s fantastic four around Alvor and more recently the two signature courses at Amendoeira.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
