Overview
The Salobre Golf Club is the only club in the Canary Islands with 36 holes.
Designed by Roland Favre, the Old Course is one of the oldest commercial courses on the island. It is an 18-hole course with a par of 71 and has played host to a number of important Championships, such as the 2006 Spanish PGA and the Senior and Women’s Championships in Spain in 2001. This outstanding course can be enjoyed by players of all handicaps. Its key characteristics are its wide fairways, small greens and its tees positioned at different heights. The par 3 holes in particular are noteworthy for their excellence and their difficulty, especially the 11th hole which is the emblematic hole of the course.
Opened in 2008 and designed by Ron Kirby, the New Course has a remarkable landscape and a special design. The course occupies the rugged terrain, ravines and canyons of a constantly, and frequently steeply, undulating desert environment with many of the holes seeming to cling precariously to the slopes. It is a demanding and technical course which requires golfers to think very carefully about their strategy. It has similarities to a links course due to its excellent adaptation to the environment and its wild nature. A course that will complement any golf itinerary.
Location
Gran Canaria is a year round golfing destination due to its favourable climate, accessibility and seven very good golf courses which cater to all tastes. It is a traditional ‘Winter Sun’ destination with good golfing temperatures throughout, however the best value is through the summer months when the golf courses are cheaper as they have the rest of Europe to compete with for golf and sunshine.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
