Overview
Royal County Down Golf Club is situated against the magnificent backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful links settings in the Murlough Nature Reserve. The links stretches along the shores of Dundrum Bay, zigzagging back and forth to provide a different vista from virtually every hole.
The 6,675-yard Championship Links has very narrow fairways that thread their way through an impressive set of sand dunes. The fairways are surrounded by purple heather and golden gorse, so beautiful to look at but so punishing for any who may stray from the prescribed path. The ‘bearded’ bunkers are world famous and feature overhanging lips of marram, red fescue and heather. The greens are fast and many are domed, rejecting any shot lacking conviction.
This is a true test of any player’s command of the traditional bump and run, the preferred way to play any links. From the stableford tees it offers golfers of all standards the opportunity of playing a truly great course with dramatic panorama of the surrounding mountains and coastline.
The Annesley Links at Royal County Down shares the same magnificent setting as the Championship Links and is full of character. Although much shorter than the Championship Links, it is still a very testing course, with magnificent views of sea, mountains and duneland.

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
