Listed among Peter Alliss’ top 200 golf courses in the British Isles, Clyne is an outstanding moorland championship course on the edge of the Gower Peninsula, the UK’s first designated area of outstanding natural beauty. From any hole on the course, there are stunning views of Swansea Bay all the way to the Brecon Beacons.
Designed by Harry Colt in the 1920’s, the course offers a fine test of golf for all levels of handicap. The original lay out remains today, with many natural hazards residing on the undulating ground as well as many little pot bunkers often hidden from view around humps and bumps. Gorse and bracken surround the rolling fairways which are reasonably wide but, as you’d expect, a battle with the elements is always on the cards here. The key for success here is how you handle approach shots. The putting surfaces are very special, even paced throughout and the soft springy turf gives welcome receptiveness. Despite its lofty position the course is never too difficult to walk.
The championship standard greens has enabled Clyne to attract many important regional golf competitions (eg the 2016 Welsh Team Handicap Qualifier, the 2016 Glamorgan County Junior Championship and the 2014 Glamorganshire Men’s County Championship).

Once you have found the destination, hotel and golf courses that you would like to play, either fill in the ‘Request a Quote’ box or call us on 01371 483444. We will get back to you with a quotation by email. If this is to your approval call us so that we can run through your preferred itinerary and fine tune the details, we will then make the reservations and send you a confirmed itinerary. To secure the booking we will require a deposit of £50 per person with the balance payable eight weeks before you travel. It’s a simple as that!
